Horizon International School is committed to fostering essential 21st-century skills in our students through innovative learning practices. Our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program is a key part of this commitment, seamlessly integrating technology into everyday education. This enables students to access a wide range of digital resources, engage in collaborative projects, and participate actively in interactive lessons, all of which enhance their learning experience.
Students are expected to bring laptops or tablets that meet specified technical guidelines and are fully charged each day. Devices must strictly serve educational purposes, align with our Acceptable Use Policy, and emphasize responsible digital citizenship. Our Character Education program further guides students on ethical digital behavior, underscoring respect for privacy and appropriate content use.
At Horizon International School, we are dedicated to providing a safe digital learning environment for our students. To this end, we employ robust platforms such as the Fortinet firewall, which ensures secure network access and protection against cyber threats. We also use JamF for effective device management of applications and websites, and FastVue to monitor online activities proactively, safeguarding students' digital wellbeing. We believe that this comprehensive approach, combined with students' responsibility for their devices, ensures a secure and productive learning environment.
Through the BYOD program, Horizon students are honing their research skills, critical thinking, and teamwork, preparing them for the digital demands of higher education and the modern workforce. We are deeply grateful for the support and cooperation of our community in making this initiative a resounding success.
