Homeroom System

At Horizon, the Homeroom System is the daily foundation of student care. Every student is part of a homeroom group led by a dedicated Homeroom Teacher, who serves as their mentor, advocate, and first line of support in a nurturing environment. This system is designed to provide a reassuring and nurturing environment, instilling confidence in parents about the school's care for their children.

Homeroom time is used for more than just administrative tasks — it's a space for building connections, having meaningful conversations, and checking in on students' well-being. Teachers get to know their homeroom students personally, tracking their academic progress, emotional health, and social integration throughout the year.

Homeroom teachers communicate closely with parents and collaborate with subject teachers, school counselors, and leadership. This ensures a holistic support network in which no student is overlooked.

Structured themes in emotional literacy, digital citizenship, goal-setting, and ethical behavior guide weekly homeroom activities. Students also participate in circle time, mindfulness practices, and team-building games that strengthen peer relationships and classroom culture.

In our boutique school environment, the homeroom becomes a second home—a safe and consistent place where students feel grounded, valued, and heard daily.
